Salt Lake County Criminal Justice Services assists the public with effective and innovative alternatives to incarceration. Its programs include Pretrial Jail Screening and Supervision, Probation Services, Client Services, and the Day Reporting Center.

Protective Services has provided a law enforcement officer at Criminal Justice Services since 2006. To provide the best security for the building’s employees and patrons, our desk is located directly at the front of Pretrial and Probation Services – where most of the centers clients come to report. This enables us to monitor incoming traffic, deter criminal behavior, respond to emergencies immediately, and assist any clients with general law enforcement questions. Our officers also routinely patrol Client Services, the Day Reporting Center, and the exterior of the building, thus providing a safe and low crime environment for all the citizens who utilize the center.
