Prescription Medication Drop Box Program
The Sheriff's Office would like to remind citizens we have several convenient locations throughout the county to dispose of expired or unwanted prescription medication. Click here for a list of the drop box locations.
Pay-for-Stay Program
The Salt Lake County Council has given approval to the Sheriff to implement a program which will save Salt Lake County taxpayers money by charging prisoners a fee to be incarcerated in the Salt Lake County Jail. Click here to learn more about the program.

Search and Rescue and Lifeflight Recognition
Sheriff Jim Winder recently recognized the combined efforts of the Salt Lake County Search and Rescue Team and Intermountain Health Care's Lifeflight crew during a ceremony at the Sheriff's Office Building. Click here to learn more about the incredible rescue which prompted this award.
