Reserve Deputy Program
The Sheriff's Office held a swearing in for nine new reserve deputies on December 15th. This establishes the Sheriff Reserve program where sworn officers can volunteer for law enforcement service.
The reserve deputy program is comprised of sworn officers that hold at least a special function officer rating. The new reserve program provides the Sheriff's Office with additional resources without substantial budget increase. The volunteers are provided a uniform allowance and training in return for providing additional coverage as needed.
