The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office remains the largest in the state of Utah. It has responsibilities for municipal law enforcement, jails, courts, Search & Rescue, and more.
The Fiscal Division of the Sheriff's Office is responsible for the accounting of all Office budgeting, purchasing, and payroll. This work is done for an organization approximately 1,100 members strong. The diverse operations include: illegal drug investigations, police radios, office supplies, and inmate dispensary items. The Office was also responsible for managing the construction of the new 135 million dollar Adult Detention Facility. This enormous fiscal responsibility is closely managed by the Sheriff through the Fiscal Division.
